This one was tricky – the clients wanted floor-to-ceiling glass to capture those Howe Sound views, but we're talking serious winter storms here. Ended up designing a three-level cantilevered structure that kinda hugs the rocky slope. The engineering took months to nail down, but watching the sunrise through that living room now? Worth every revision.

This old captain's residence had been "updated" in the 70s with... let's call them questionable choices. Our job was bringing it back to life while sneaking in modern systems. The heritage committee watched us like hawks – in a good way. Every detail got debated, from window profiles to the porch railing design.

Building on a tidal flat means your foundation design has to account for water movement twice a day. We raised the entire structure on engineered pilings, created a permeable lower level for wave action, and designed drainage that works with the tides instead of fighting them.

After a winter storm took out the original pier structure, we had a clean slate – and nervous restaurant owners. Rebuilt the entire dining platform using marine-grade materials, added retractable glass walls for year-round use, and somehow increased seating by 30% while making it feel more spacious.
